I just got a request for some detailed instructions about the blog.
To make it easier, I've switched it so you don't have to register to make comments on the blog. If you want to respond or make coments to any of the main stories on the blog, just click at the bottom of the story where it says "0 Comments" and you will go to a screen that will show all the comments on that story.
On the top right side of the screen is a little box to post your comment. Don't worry about the size of the box, you can type as much as you'd like. When you've finished your comment, you have three choices:
You can post as a "Blogger" if you've registered with the site.
You can post as "Other" and leave your name.
You can post as "Anonymous" and leave off your name. (Though it would be better to know who you are.)
When you click one of the three choices, it will ask for a little more information. If you sign in as a "blogger" it will ask for your username and password. If you sign in as "other" it will ask for your name and website, but you don't need to enter a website. You can leave that blank. If you sign in as "anonymous" you don't need to enter a name at all.
Just under that part is a wierd-looking bit of letters. You just have to type these letters out in a little box beneath the wierd-looking letters. This seems silly, but it's to make sure that roving automated computers don't fill our blog with junk-mail. It's the blog's way of knowing you're a person and not a computer. Computer's have trouble reading the wierd-looking letters.
After you enter the letters, there are two final boxes. You can either click on the blue one, "Log In and Publish" to post your comment, or you can click the grey "Preview" button to just see you your comment will look without posting it.
Whoa! After typing it out, it looks really complicated, but I'm just trying to not leave out any details. This just works for posting comments to the main posts. If you want to start main posts on the blog, please email me and I can send you an invitation to be a member of the blog. I sent invitations last night to everyone who gave me their email at the meeting. If you didn't get an invitation, please email me at frankrause@hotmail.com and I'll send you one right away.

Fran-This is a non-blocker and a non-blogger, but I think you have done a great job! It is really exciting (even as somebody who just comes to Madison St. to visit you) to see so much enthusiasm for community building.-Gillian
hello fellow madison street residents. i just wanted to drop a line and thank everyone for showing up last week end to our meeting to vote on the new interim officers. i know we can make a postive impact if we all work together to improve our block. i look forward to working with everyone in the upcoming year. see you on jan 6.
