I just wanted to summarize what we discussed in our meeting tonight.
The interm members of the board were elected tonight. Their terms will run for the next six months.
Toya Williford - President
Christian Davis - Vice President
Andrew Robinson - Treasurer
Kisha Sigler - Secretary
Fran Krause - Assistant Secretary
From now on, we'll be meeting on the first Saturday of every month at 7pm!
Toya said that her mailbox was at 182A Madison, for suggestions.
We talked for a while about pooling our knowledge to figure out which houses on the block are abandoned and are sources of trouble.
Our Community Liason at the 79th Precinct is Tony Saunders. His number is 718 636-6626. Call him with your problems. Make some noise.
The garden located near the North East corner of the block seems to have some interest in it. we have some shovels and other tools, and there were a few people interested in planting and working on it. It's ours so long as it's maintained. If it ever falls into neglect, the city can sell it.
The contractor that built the new wide building on the south side of the block near the eastern end seems to be in trouble due to bad building practices. I didn't really get all the different people & companies involved with this one, can someone refresh our memories?
There was mention of using the unused buletin board on the convenience store on the South West corner of the block for our announcements.
Rachel Hernandez is in touch with the government agency that distributes paint for anti-grafitti programs and is looking for the right green for the mailboxes.
The alternate side parking regulations cards were passed out. The same information is available here: Click Here
Also there was talk of the city program that plants trees. Yeah, they're a bit backordered and slow, but if you'd like to order a tree there is an easy form on the internet. Click Here.
That's all I can remember right now. I'm new at the Assitant Secretary job, I'll probably remember a bunch of things as soon as I post this.
